Unlike our portfolio of architectural renderings, a diagrammatic rendering can too become a piece of work that we love but for completely different reasons. While large projects consisting of beautiful buildings (and the landscaping and grounds that surround them) make a huge splash due to their scale, a diagrammatic rendering project can actually become quite large due to the tiny details it possesses and to which attention is required.
In this particular case, the diagram was created in a life-like manner for the purpose of enabling architects and designers to see into the subfloor and understand what will be expected and executed in terms of wiring, air flow, etc. In fact, F13 was commissioned by the flooring company, Tate Flooring, through the architect R2Integrated, LLC for this very purpose.
Photographs of the existing office space were provided to us in order to integrate into the modeling created by F13 representing the layers of steel construction and floor paneling. Here’s where the project got very big. The details were everything, down to the accurate bolts and clips used in construction. Those little pieces had to be built/modeled. This is a focus not necessary on larger scale architectural projects, but key to making this one a success. And, we loved it for that very reason.
